So, I remembered what fun markers are. I also realized that coloring checkered floors with markers is not fun. Seriously, checkers. Sure, they take a minute or two to create on the computer; THAT IS NOT THE CASE WITH A TRADITIONAL MEDIUM. The paper was too big to fit in my scanner so I took a photo. It's sort of fuzzy. Oh well.
Take a moment to note the creative title. Not. Haha, anyway my complaints aside, I'm actually rather happy with how this came out. Instead of rushing through, I took it easy and took my time doing this drawing from start to finish, and I think the result is pretty good. I realize that there are flaws here and there, but I'm following ~cynicalplushie's take on stuff (which I recall from a journal entry or something ages ago) about just putting art out there instead of never being satisfied and never finishing anything. It's probably better just to complete things, and gradually I'll get better from the pure experience of completing many pictures. Seriously, copic markers are fun stuff. Also, I haven't been drawing much lately, and it was fun to sort of jolt my system back into somewhat artistic behavior....Originally the floor was supposed to be pink and gray (a toned down version of the black and red checkered floor in Soul's...whatever it is), but I kind of liked the pink and white, even though it makes the picture uber feminine looking. Yeah, I've been into Soul Eater lately. I just finished the anime about a week ago, and it's REALLY GOOD. I recommend it to everybody. I'm actually planning on cosplaying Maka for Anime Expo 09, in case anyone has any remote interest about what I'm doing in life... Note the scythe, curved for "dramatic effects". Not. Mainly, if I kept the pole straight, the cool scythe-y part wouldn't even be in the picture -__- But shhh, it's dramatic. |

Well it's ridiculously obvious that you're marker skills are improving like crazy. And I love how you're experimenting with perspective. It looks great, good call on fading the tiles instead of keeping the original black red.
DUDE.
